Sales Cadence: How to Build a Multi-Touch Outreach Rhythm

How to decide how many touches, on which channels, before a cadence becomes nagging.

A sales cadence is the rhythm of contact around one opportunity: which day, which channel, what the touch is for. The definition worth keeping: it is a short sequence of distinct attempts to help a specific account take one next step, with a planned stop.

Build it from the buyer's situation, not from a template named '7 touch'. A founder who can take a call this week does not need the same rhythm as a committee that buys once a year.

What each touch must do

Touch one states the reason and the ask. Later touches add a fact, a proof you are allowed to use, or a narrower ask. They do not say 'just bumping this'. The last touch says you are stopping.

Channel: email first for anything they might forward. A call or LinkedIn note only if a person is actually doing it. SMS or WhatsApp only after they asked. Sendblox can draft the email steps from the record and hold them. It should not fire the whole cadence because a calendar said so and nobody read step three.

Before you publish a change for sales cadence, write down the date, the record you edited, and the one message you used as a test. A week later, check whether that test still matches production. Provider rules, DNS includes, and CRM fields all move. A page that was true in general can be wrong on your domain if nobody looked again. Keep the send small until that check is dull. One contact, one objective, a person reading the draft. If the test fails, stop the campaign. Do not widen it to see whether a larger list forgives a broken setup.
